Q. How do I arrange a match?
A. Having completed a search, choose the most compatible partner and email that individual with your proposals.

Q. How much does it cost to register?
A. As of October 2003 the charge for registering with Matchpractice.com is £25 for club members and £50 for non-club members. this may be subject to change in the future.

However, when registering you get the opportunity to evaluate the service for a 14 day trial period free of charge. If you do not want to continue as a member after this free trial, we will remove you from the database and you will not be charged.

Q. What should I put in my email?
A. This depends on whether you are making a general enquiry about the availability of a player over the next few weeks, or are making specific arrangements concerning a particular tee time. (See examples below)

Q. Can you provide a couple of examples?
A. 1: I shall be interested to know if you are interested in playing at Nizels Golf Club (Kent) this Saturday?

A. 2: I shall be in your area on business over the next couple of weeks and would be interested to know if you could play one afternoon?

Q. What do I do when I receive an email?
A. If you are available and wish to play, then we suggest that you reply to the email within 24hrs. If you are unable to play, no further action is required.

Q. Once details have been confirmed and we have arranged to play, where will we meet?
A. We suggest that you always meet in the Pro Shop or at the Reception rather than in the Car Park or elsewhere.

Q. Can I play at someone else’s Club?
A. Yes - Either as a guest of a Club Member or as a Visitor. However, in all cases, Club Policy concerning guests and visitors must be met.

Q. Can I arrange for someone from another club to play at my club?
A. Yes - This is the essence of this website - to put like minded players in touch with each other, however, always check your clubs visitor and guest Policy

Q. Who is responsible for booking up the tee time?
A. If you have invited a visitor to play at your club, then it is your responsibility as the member of that club to arrange a tee time.

  • If as a visitor you have suggested playing at another club, then it is the Members responsibility to arrange the tee time.
  • If you are both visitors to a club, then it is whoever instigates the proposals that is responsible for booking the tee time.
